Colie runs for Candlelighters

As many of you know, my life has been deeply affected by pediatric cancer since 2010. In the last 7 years, I have met so many wonderful people - from the bravest of children battling for their lives with the ginormous, infectious grins and their courageous siblings and families, to other volunteers and healthcare workers devoted to supporting these kids in their fight and working tirelessly to see a day without cancer. They have become family to me and it is truly an honor to serve on their behalf each and every day.

Recently, I began volunteering for an incredible organization, Candlelighters NYC.  Candlelighters is a 100% non-profit organization serving hundreds of children (and their families) from all over the US who are being treated in the NYC area. Candlelighters provides everything from birthday parties and special events, to babysitting and hospital visits, and every other possible service you could think of, from the moment of discovery and diagnosis all the way to remission. Fundraising is a crucial way for Candlelighters to provide our families with the support and assistance they need during such an emotionally and financially trying time. Making the decision to donate my NYC Half race to Candlelighters and fundraise on their behalf was a no-brainer. Even the smallest of donations will directly help a child and his/her family.
