Replace Coley’s stolen van & catering equipment

Hi my name is Candice from The Original Coley’s. We recently opened a new restaurant in Sherman Oaks, our home neighborhood where we have lived for 11 years now. We literally started everything from scratch with no money or resources, just a passion for serving good food. We have finally worked our way up from cooking out of our small home kitchen to a ghost kitchen and now to our new brick & mortar sitdown restaurant with the help of our family, staff and a 42 year continuation of loyal customers from my father, Chef Don Coley’s, restaurant. We are a very proud people and it breaks us to ask for help even when it’s desperately needed but our work cargo van was stolen from our restaurant rear parking lot on February 17th with all our catering equipment (cambro hot boxes, cooler, tables, chairs, chaffing dishes, & serving utensil). This van is more than sentimental to us because it was the thing that enabled us to start catering and the only thing left from my dad’s old business. We used all of our funds & resources to open our new restaurant and unfortunately we have nothing left to replace our losses. Because the van is an older model Chevy the insurance will only give us approximately $2500, this doesn’t even cover the equipment inside much less a new secondhand vehicle. This van & equipment is a big part of our daily operations and without the transportation or hot boxes it’s almost impossible to transport our goods & supplies as well as transport our catering safely. With so many family restaurants going under we don’t want to be one of them. If you can, please help us raise funds to get back what we have lost. We have had so much pride in being able to say we have done this by ourselves with no help, but that truly was nonsense because our community has always been there with us & for us as we are here serving you. Thank you for taking the time out to read this and / or share it. You are immensely appreciated. One Love
