Colette’s Future Dream

Hi my is Colette Bailey, l am fundraising for retirement Home Carvan, As a content creator, my followers are always asking me to set up a wish list or go fund me so they can help set up my retirement home to make my quality of life easier.

My story began at 5 months old when due to sad circumstances, I was in my pram and I was a victim of a house fire and was badly burned. This caused complications with my leg where health professionals tried to save my leg; however at age 13 my leg had to be amputated.

My story continues with me going into a children’s home after this incident and at age 3 going into care, sadly I never knew a happy home, things stayed this way until I was 18 years old.

From the care system at 18 I went into a hostel and managed to secure my own place and started my family.

I worked 4 jobs at one point to support my family, but sadly my health has been slowly deteriorating.

I worked hard, attended college to become a make up artist to create a better life for my family. I have always paid my way and am so proud under my circumstances, that I was able to provide so much.

I have endured 3 major operations, on my leg due to my start in life and my work life, which has left me completely immobile at times and decreased my mobility. I have spent a large portion of my life in hospital.

My husband is my carer and without him I wouldn’t have half of the independence in my own home, however my home is becoming unsuitable due to the stairs, lack of space for me to be able to use my wheelchair in my home and doors not being wide enough. I have become very dependent on others and after living my life independently this is very difficult for me.

I love to cook and clean however I am unable to do this for reasons explained above.

I am diagnosed with bipolar, and i am always looking for ways to help myself and my husband and decided 9 years ago to become a creator on social media and my content went viral, I enjoyed this so much and was able to provide again, however I have been on the receiving end of racism, bullying and hate on a daily basis and my experience with this has changed.

This has caused my mental health to decline a long side my physical health.

With all this in mind, and having been asked by my friends and followers I have set up this go fund me to raise money for my retirement home where I can enjoy my days more independently. My husband and I have seen a static caravan that would be perfect to manoeuvre my wheelchair inside, meaning I will be able to do things I love like cooking.

Money raised will be put towards this, and any jobs that need doing on it.
