Colette's Amputation
Tax deductible
Colette came to us with her brother on March 12th, 2025. When we took her in, we were told both of them were found on the street and had been hit with rocks and bb guns by children in the neighborhood. We weren't going to let that stop us from saving them. When they came in, they were both terrified. We couldn't give them food without them hissing and wincing. Colette's leg was broken, with wounds filled with debris and dirt. We ran bloodwork on Colette, as she had stop eating, come to find out she was severely anemic. The doctors suspected negative outcomes, as she was very sick. After rounds of medication, a lot of food and a lot of love, we got great news - her bloodwork is completely normal! However, she still needs her amputation.
Her brother, other than the trauma, was completely healthy. He went to a foster home, learned how to be loved again, and is now available for adoption! Colette, however, is still in our medical intake unit, and we hope, with your help, we can do the same for her, so she can find a loving home and be safe for the rest of her life.
