My name is Amanda, and my husband is a member of the Colonial Rod Club. GoFund Me does not allow group pages to create fundraisers so I am creating under my account on behalf of the club.

"Cole is the son of Peter and Suellen Theriault. Ironically, Cole is a car guy. His dad states that Cole loves being a mechanic, loves anything with a motor, and has a heart of gold. Pete is a close friend of the Rod Club. Every year Pete donates a BEAUTIFUL high quality flag made of pallet wood for the club to raffel. Pete makes these by hand and these flags sell for hundreds of dollars, but he generously donates them 100% free for our Rod Run to The Beach Show.

On December 11th Cole was the passenger in a horrific car accident. He is currently at UVA Hospital, under a medical induced coma. Cole has a broken back that was just operated on. He has 3 broken ribs, brain bleed, punctured lung, and fractured sternum. Sadly, the driver, Cole's friend did not make it. You can imagine this being a parents worst nightmare. The fear, the not knowing whats to come, feeling completely helpless when your instincts want you to fix it and make it better...

We can't even fathom the expense and hardship that this will cause. High risk of more surgeries, physical therapy, potential medical supplies/equipment. Even with insurance, co-pays, missed work, gas money, Cole's outstanding bills that will have to be taken on while his fate is determined. This family is suffering and we want to lighten their worry and burden. The Rod Club wants to raise money to help a friend who selflessly helps others.

The Rod Club challenges all of our friends, acquaintances, and supporters to step up and help a fellow car guy.

We extend our hand and prayers for Cole and his family. Pete describes Cole as "stubborn as a bull". And like Pete said, his stubbornness is exactly how we know he will fight through this!
