Cole's Loretta Lynn Race Fundraiser
We made a deal with Cole a few months ago. We told him if he gives us 100% effort at every practice, training session and race we take him to, that we will make sure we give him every opportunity to get his ticket to MX Sports National Amateur Motocross Championship Race at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. Well, I had no idea a 7 year old could show so much commitment and dedication to prove his desire to compete with the best!
HE DID IT!! Cole got his ticket at Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut, IL and it was DESERVED! 2nd place out of 48 riders, and now considered 1 of the top 40 fastest kids in the nation for his age group! To say we are proud is an understatement. The Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship (formerly called the Loretta Lynn's Amateur Championship) is held annually on Loretta Lynn's family ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN. It is known as the world's largest amateur motocross race.
Most of you know we leave almost every weekend and drive hours to show up to races or practice tracks. On Tuesdays we drive an hour to train for 4 hours with the Vonlinger Brothers. It's a lot for a little kid but Cole shows up EVERY SINGLE TIME! Some kids that race motocross live at compounds where they train every day. Cole gets to train once a week, and he knows that he must put in twice the effort to make it count. We feel that he has proven hard work pays off!
A lot of our friends and family have offered help with some of the cost that comes along with racing. Some may want to help but not quite sure how. Well, the only thing that helps is $$$! This sport costs a small fortune and we can keep up with most of it, but it’s a struggle at times! We want Cole to have every opportunity to succeed at doing what he loves: racing dirt bikes! Now that he’s proven to be one of the best, we wanted to let others show Cole their support in his dream. A sport like racing does not have team fundraisers, so we felt like a GoFundMe would be the best way to let anyone who wanted help our boy! For those who own businesses and would like a way to advertise, we will be creating a huge sponsor banner that will hang on our camper all week long at the Championship race (I'm talking THOUSANDS of people show up to this race). Every dollar will go straight to his trip to Loretta’s, training, and maintenance for his dirt bike leading up to the big race.
