Coleen Ellis Maguire Scholarship Fund
Throughout her 44 years, Coleen Ellis Maguire crossed paths with a great many people from all walks of life. Rarely did any of these lucky individuals go forth without knowing the unique positive impacts, large and small, that Coleen created as a part of her very nature. Anybody who has the blessed good fortune of being able to say that Coleen touched their life understands this. Her radiant smile, her sincere and limitless empathy, and her irrepressible sense of humor made all those who encountered Coleen know, without any doubt, that they had come in contact with a truly special person.
In the years leading up to her untimely passing, Coleen dedicated much of her time to earning a yoga instructor’s certification, which would help her share one of her many passions with those who wanted to learn from her. When Coleen’s children reached school age, she spent all her waking hours concentrating on how they, the most treasured people in her life, would optimally benefit from available educational resources. Indeed, when anything new interested Coleen, she would be sure to load up on all sorts of books on that topic --- and actually read them. She would read them, highlight them, and then read them again. Clearly, Coleen cherished all forms of education. Second only to her family, the very act of sharing knowledge and the love that is inherent in teaching were the things that Coleen cared about the most.
In the spirit of promoting Coleen’s devotion to education, we ask that you consider the Coleen Ellis Maguire Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship will be awarded to a Seaford High School student who shares Coleen’s generous spirit and passion for service. Please help us honor our selfless angel, and help her to continue to touch lives even after her time on Earth has passed.
