Help Cole march with DCI this summer
Donation protected
My name is Cole and I'm a junior in high school. I'm in several AP classes along with three different band classes. My love for playing music started in the 5th grade when I joined my school's orchestra and learned how to play the violin. Since then, I've learned how to play several brass and stringed instruments, with the trumpet being my favorite.
I'm auditioning for an activity called DCI, or Drum Corps International. It is basically a higher level of high school marching band but with only brass instruments and percussion. If I am selected to march DCI, this summer I would get to travel to many different states and cities and meet and work with great people. I would also compete against many other drum corps. Being selected for DCI means a lot to me because it would help me improve my physical health and mental fortitude as I would be working 8-10 hours a day, 6 days a week, for 2 and a half months. Music colleges would also very much like to see experience in the activity on an application.
I've set up this fundraiser to help pay for my travel expenses as well as to acquire a new instrument and equipment so I can continue to learn new skills and grow as a musician. I have a high affinity for music and marching band and would love to be able to march as many years as I could before I age out. Having this instrument and higher quality equipment would allow me to practice and perform on a higher level and would allow for a more enjoyable experience.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Any donation amount would help and be greatly appreciated.
