Family and Friends -
On September 10, 2019, my brother Cole was in a serious motorcycle accident. The injuries from the accident are extensive - a couple of surgeries and a week stay in the hospital having already occurred, with a couple surgeries remaining in the near future, and more in the long-term future. Cole is currently living at our parents home - as his home is not wheelchair friendly.
In the last month, we've been given a better understanding of how long the recovery process for Cole will really be. Due to the extensive damage to his left leg/foot, and having a right shoulder injury as well, Cole has only been able to use a wheelchair thus far. He has many other injuries that affect his mobility. We expect that he will be able to do "light duty" work things in about four to five months (if all goes well) and he may begin to try walking without crutches/aid in about six months.
First, our family wants to thank the many people who have reached out with caring words, prayers and visits. This journey has been made more bearable because of you. Every message, prayer and visit has been a blessing and an encouragement - so thank you!
Many people have reached out looking for ways to help and several have asked for a way to contribute financially since the accident . After much consideration, we've decided to create this gofundme account for Cole to provide a way for financial contributions. He will be unable to work for the next four to sixth months due to the accident leading to many financial burdens (rent, hospital bills, etc.). Unfortunately, he does not have disability insurance through work to aid as he recovers. We understand that not everyone can help in this way - but we did want to provide the option for those who wish to.
Of course, visits (the boredom of being laid up for such a length of time is difficult) and your prayers for a smooth recovery and healing are valued and appreciated as well!
We hope to keep you updated through future gofundme posts as his recovery continues.
