Colby is 15 years old. He has Cerebral Palsy and is permanently in a wheelchair. He had to have hip surgery in July and now has metal plates keeping his legs in the hip socket where they belong! He is still in a lot of pain because he has pretty severe Scoliosis. He is about to undergo Spinal Fusion Surgery in a couple of weeks. I will be taking off work to be with him during his recovery. He is in need of a bath chair, lift for the home, new wheelchair (insurance won’t cover for 2 more years), and a special car seat to keep him from bending. A lot of this stuff is not considered “medical necessity” according to insurance. This is extremely frustrating and defeating because they are all things he truly needs.
