Colby’s Cancer Journey

Hi, I’m Amberly, Colbys mom and I am reaching out for support during our families tough times. Colby’s life forever changed on April 29, 2021 when we got the awful news he had T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It’s been 3 of the longest, most difficult, and painful years of our lives. Not only has he been battling cancer, not being able to go to school with his friends, play sports or be a normal teenager, he is also been faced with many side effects from chemotherapy and other medications along the way. He has enlarged spleen and blood vessels, portal hypertension, gallstones in his gallbladder, and bridging fibrosis in the liver. Colby is now a patient at Sacramento Sutter Hospital and Stanford Hospital. At this time he has been out of 7th grade since December and has been in and out of the hospital trying to manage the pain. I am a single mom of Colby (13) and Gracie (9), working full time and trying to make as many doctor’s appointments as I can.
