Colbert’s Car Accident

Hi everybody. As many of you know we recently moved to Sarasota, Florida. While everything has been amazing so far, we had a turn of events Tuesday night. Colbert had a medical emergency and ended up losing consciousness causing him to cross 3 lanes of traffic and meet a utility pole head on. We are extremely grateful he is alive with only the injuries he has sustained. He was taken to Florida Blake Hospital via ambulance to the Trauma unit where is stayed till the early morning hours. He will recover but will need to be treated by an orthopedic doctor to determine the best course on-top of the treatment he received in the emergency room.
We are asking for assistance from anybody willing to help cover the medical bills he is incurring as well as help cover a bit of my lost income. Our car insurance will pay a good amount but there was extensive testing done as well as ambulance transport that will take up the majority of those funds.
Due to the recent move. My medical insurance through my current employer will not take effect till 8/1/24 meaning we will be paying the ortho and praying that a surgeon is not the case but if it is, fully out of pocket.
Colbert has been a stay at home dad since arriving here in Florida to help us settle. He has been taking care of all the initial things, school registration, immunization transfers etc and had been planning to return to working this month. That has now been delayed significantly. We have also been a single car family for some time now.
Any assistance even if it is $5 is appreciated while we try to navigate this major turn of events without any local family to help.
