Many of you know Dan and his amazing story. 

In 2011, experiencing persistent headaches, Dan, 33, learned that he had a non-cancerous brain tumor. It was removed but returned three months later, this time as a malignant  anaplastic astrocytoma tumor. Brain surgery and chemo followed. During remission,

Dan married the love of his life, Lisa. They had three children, Riley, 4, Brody, 2, and Harper, 1. On Oct. 20, 2017 (his birthday) Dan went in for an MRI due to onset reading problems. The tumor was found to be growing again in Dan’s brain. He underwent his third and fourth surgeries just weeks apart, which revealed the tumor was now a Stage 4 Glioblastoma. Dan passed away in his sleep and now Lisa is to begin her next chapter. 


I personally met Dan in junior high. He ended up going to Mount Carmel where my husband went to high school. While they never met it’s just another sign of how God has his own way of doing things. 

My father was was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2013 and out of the blue Dan messaged me about his own diagnoses and offering any help he could give. 

A year later when my son was diagnosed with brain cancer he once again reached out. 

I watched him fall in love with Lisa via Facebook and become a father. 

When both my father and son passed again amidst his own battle he offered condolences. 

Lisa I have learned is my soul sister. We finally met last week and I got to see Dan. 

Im starting this gofundme because Lisa has dedicated the past couple of years of her life to being Dan’s 24/7 caretaker. She is now a single mom to three children under 4. 

She will need to balance grief of not only her own but that of her children. 

A path i know all too well. 

Due to Dan’s young age at diagnoses there is just enough insurance to bury him and nothing left. 

My hope is with this gofundme we can pay off Lisa’s mortgage. 

So she can focus on relearning life again, healing both her soul and her children’s cause their life will never be the same. 

She should not have to worry that her children could lose their home.
