Hello! My name is Kayla Adams and I’m the sister of Cody Buyas.

Cody Moto (Buyas) sustained major injuries from a crash while mountain biking on Saturday, April 2, 2022. He was enjoying biking with a friend when this unfortunate incident took place around Post Canyon MTB Trails in hood river, Oregon.  Cody was sent via ambulance to Providence in the Dalles, they determined he would need back surgery right away and sent him by the way of ambulance to Emanuel and he was admitted to the TRACU which is more equipped for that type of trauma and care. Thankfully, Emanuel determine surgery is not needed at this time and they would like to heal him with PT and OT.

Cody broke his T4 and T8. He basically broke himself in half - this is how the doctor explained it. He has been at Emanuel since the 2nd and hopes to be released to a rehab facility soon. He is still unable to stand up, even just to hold on to a walker, let alone walk. He has a long road to recovery.

He will be out of work and his medical expenses will continue to climb.
