My name is Cody Wright and I have been a 911 dispatcher for 10 years now. I absolutely love my job; I've never had a passion for anything else. I pride myself in remaining calm in stressful situations to help others through their emergency when they call 911. A year ago, I started my diagnosis for Ménière's disease after having several vertigo episodes resulting in a "drop attack." This condition has made my daily life extremely difficult, even small things like driving or walking my dogs. Fear of falling and injuring myself, I'm losing hearing over time as a result.

For the most part, I drastically changed my life. In the past year I’ve lost 45 pounds and still going, my diet has changed and I have tried to be more active. I have a loving and supportive girlfriend who is always there for me and so understanding. Even with a dual-income home, it's becoming extremely difficult when there are times I have severe vertigo episodes and cannot function. As of 5/16/25, I've been out of work for 2 weeks straight and it's caused an extreme financial decision. I never thought I would ever make some of these, but I'm at the point where I don't know what to do.
