Cody's Courage: Rebuilding After the Blaze

My name is Jared Smith and I'm trying to help out my son, my hero, literally a real hero that just walked through a blazing inferno carrying the dog in nothing but his shorts to wake up his mom brother and me and kept us all from a for sure fatal house fire. Aside from everything we all lost and are thankful more than anything we made it out alive 100% because of Cody Smith, we would not have survived this fire, mins where I was asleep in my office was completely gone , his mom's whole shop was filled with paint cans epoxy, tanks ect so thia was not your normal blaze, which was a total loss of thousands of dollars in tools and equipment, was hot enough to turn metal to liquid puddles and steel drip from the ceiling, lit my whole office and shop vehicles of customers and strainght into our home melting washer, and dryer , and completely took his whole upper floor studio/bed room out and all his college equipment and everything he owns for school, and been attending collage for quite some time. Me and Cody Smith built his whole studio ourselves, in which he was so proud of, got a grade in school the other day with pictures for school project. This kid doesn't cuss, smoke, drink, so respectful and nice, biggest heart and now he is completely devastated while holding together strong for all of us , he's really worried he might not get to finish college due to the fact they will not replace or help him get new equipment and that's his biggest concern above his instruments he lost too and I can't get it to him or fast enough to keep him on course, and we're at a major loss with funds already maxed out just surviving out the cold. His equipment runs little over $3800.00 and that just the bare minimum what he needs as far as his studio but it's gonna take far more than that to rebuild which we have already been working on. This fire happened at 445 am 12/31/24 in early Texas and ended a already really bad year for all of us, and we're all staying as positive as possible, instead of seeing this as starting off 2025 horrible and homeless, we agreed to put our home back together as a family and appreciate every bit of time we have together, we are focused on this being a good thing, fresh start a chance to build better and stronger as a unit and I want him to see how recovering this material stuff can be possible but not the lives he saved of his mom Heather, his little brother Kaleb and our dog biskits. He is a true hero and did not deserve to loose every single thing he owned to a fire we still don't know how it started, and doesn't matter as long as we all pull together for what we absolutely need. He needs this career he has been aspiring to achieve and it will definitely turn him bitter at life to see everything he invented any hard work into as a waist of time, i want him to understand all he worked so hard for us worth his efforts because he is good and real natural talent to produce something great , his first big step to decide and commit twords id like to see him succeed and a glimpse of how good and caring us humans can be. Thank you if you read this whole story and anything would be very helpful, and much appreciated, and thank you Cody Smith for saving our lives , I love you son
