(Cody's Mom) Robyn Frazier's battle with ALS
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
One of my best friends and colleagues is in need of your support! His mom was recently diagnosed with the awful ALS disease. This disease not only is emotionally tough on a family but has also been a stressful financial burden on Cody's family. Cody is never one to complain, or ever ask for a handout and is one of the hardest working people I know . Megan and I would like to help him and his family out any way we can and decided this April we will be running the Nashville Half Marathon to raise funds that will go directly to Cody's family as they take on this incredible fight. We appreciate any amount and thank you for your support again!
"This past September my mom was diagnosed with ALS. ALS is a nervous system disease that weakens muscles and impacts physical function eventually resulting in death of the person. Being 13 hours away from home, and hearing that my mom has a disease that isn’t curable, and knowing there’s nothing I can do but wait as she gets worse is one the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. For those of you that aren’t aware I’m currently working in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania pursuing a career in hockey. So I only currently get to go home and help, and see her 4-5 months out of the year. My grandma is her primary caregiver at the moment. As everyone in the world says their grandma is the nicest lady on the planet, and mine is just the same. She did anything and everything for us growing up, and continues to do anything she can to help us grandkids as we get older. Unfortunately she is battling her own health issues. With a knee replacement this past summer, and a hip replacement in early December. It makes giving my mom the care she currently needs much more difficult than she can do on her own. She wasn’t able to work much before the hip surgery, and now isn’t very mobile in the apartment, although she is getting better. It takes time.
My fellow staff member, Meg, and boss/friend, Jen, have been amazing throughout this process. Always having an open ear to listen, or just picking me up when I’m down. Couldn’t be more appreciative of what they’ve done for me this year.
This isn’t going to be any easy few years. There will be ups, and downs. Good days and bad days. But my mom, and grandma raised me to take situations one day at a time, and enjoy the good when it comes. Thank you to all my friends that have been nothing but supportive through all of this, I couldn’t do it without you all." - Cody Frazier
