Cody's Care

Friday, July 19, my 15 year old nephew, Cody, was playing in the pool with friends on a family vacation to Myrtle Beach. He was going to do a belly flop in the pool, but his head hit the water at an awkward angle pushing him to the bottom/side of the pool. He hit his head and fractured the C4 and C5 vertebrae. He spent 3 days in the Myrtle Beach hospital and was transported to the Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte by ambulance on Monday, July 22. Surgery is scheduled for July 23 to replace the broken vertebrae and fuse his neck. His main discomfort is weakness in his arms and hands. At this time, we can only pray for complete healing and that he is surrounded by the best nurses, doctors, and surgeons. He has already been given the best parents to support him on this journey, but we also need to pray for the emotional and physical health of Mary and Mike. We can help ease their minds by making a contribution to assist with travel, meals, and medical expenses.
