Cody's Story
Cody Whigham was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and he truly made the most of his 26 years. If you knew Cody, you know he brought energy, laughter, and a little bit of chaos (the fun kind) wherever he went.
He proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard, spending time aboard the 87-foot patrol boat Ridley in Panama City and at Air Station Clearwater. He loved his country, his crew, and the sense of purpose that came with serving.
Outside of that, Cody loved being on the water, fishing, hunting, going to the beach, playing lacrosse, and spending time with his friends and family. He was the ultimate “yes” person, always in for a trip, a story, a late night, or whatever adventure came next.
And while Cody may not have been the best golfer… he definitely loved a good time on the course.
This tournament isn’t just about golf. It’s about bringing people together the way Cody always did, with laughter, competition, and full hearts. Because it’s not the years in your life, but the life in your years — and Cody packed a whole lot of life into his.
We’re grateful you’re here to celebrate him with us.
Our Mission
The Cody Whigham Memorial Golf Classic honors Cody’s life and service in the U.S. Coast Guard, by supporting Coast Guard Mutual Assistance, a nonprofit providing emergency financial assistance to Coast Guard families. We strive to provide a respectful space for the community to gather, celebrate his memory, and contribute to the well-being of those who serve.
