Jefferson locals and neighboring areas:
We have a local teen, Cody Pitcher 16 yo, that recently found out he has cancer, Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma. I was so blessed to have this young man sit in my chair for a haircut and I was just really moved talking with him. Such a nice, well mannered young man with such a positive spirit while going through something pretty heavy.
We clicked due to our mutual love for art which just lit this fire inside me. The goal is to raise money for him to get an iPad with Apple Pencil for his art. While he is in the hospital, undergoing treatment, he can continue his healthy outlet of art and learn the digital side of arts. Having an iPad with the pencil will open up so many possibilities in the creative realm, truly no limits to what you can create. I am wanting to raise money so Cody gets an iPad + pencil and some extra funds to help the family right now with commuting costs, bills etc. The whole family are great people, I feel honored to have met them and would love to see us come together for them during this time.
Thank you all.
Here is a message from mom, Valarie Pitcher,
“Cody is 16 and a junior at Jefferson High School. In August, Cody was taken to the ER where they found a mass in his chest. He was sent to Doernbechers and was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma. He is undergoing chemotherapy and possible radiation for the next 4 months to shrink that tumor in his chest.
I have been out of work staying home full time to be with him while my husband has been using sick days and/or vacation time.
Some things about Cody:
He is an honor role student. He is extremely artistic, loves to paint and draw, play guitar and keyboard (teaching himself to play). He likes music, movies, video games, exercising and lifting weights. “
So fellow Jefferson neighbors, i just wanted to lift this family up right now in this time of stress, and show them what “community” is all about. I really want to make the funds needed for an iPad and pencil for Cody- (that way our next session he can teach ME a couple things on there) give him something positive to fill his time while he's at the hospital. Plus, some extra cash to take some of the load off their shoulders. Prayers always needed accepted.
Thank You Jefferson and surrounding communities.
