This is my son Cody Orange. In early 2020, his Sr year of high school he went into VCU hospital via their ER for 5 days with debilitating muscle spasms. After around the clock tests and lab work he was diagnosed with an Extremely rare Auto Immune Disease called Issacs Syndrome (less than 200 cases in the world). Since, he has been treated with IVIG infusions once a month, living a normal life and landed a great trade job, learning and acquiring his welding certification. He excelled in his career and bought his own home, proud of overcoming his struggles. Unfortunately a little after mid year this year the treatments stopped working and has been progressively getting worse. For his 23rd birthday this month he was taken to VCU ER again and admitted for another 5 days. As of now he is confined to his home and bed with home health nurses coming by. His mother and I have been paying his mortgage and all applicable bills to keep a roof over his head and everything as needed. As you can imagine this is not sustainable for either of us. We have both put aside our pride and I am asking for any help for his medical bills, living expenses, etc until we can get him into John Hopkins for a second opinion and treatment. Regardless, if you can or cannot contribute, PLEASE at least say a prayer for Cody! Thank you all for reading this and anything you may be able to do!
