On the evening of August 16, 2018, ILA brother Cody Carter (age 28), member of Local 28 and nephew of Local 28 President Jack Pennington, tragically lost his life on the job at Barbour’s Cut Container Terminal in the Port of Houston. Cody, a devoted father, dedicated worker, and a selfless individual serving the church and his community, is survived by his wife Melissa and nine children (ages 13 months to 13 years).
