Cody and Mechi's Maui fire relief fund.

Hi, my name is Steven Glick and I'm starting this go fund me to help my nephew and his wife those house burned down in the Lahaina Maui fires few weeks ago.

Cody and Mercedes Cahoon met while surfing in Costa Rica over ten years ago, Mercedes( Mechi) is from Argentina and Cody is my sisters son who grew up in Texas. They settled in San Diego and became part of the tight knit surfing community here, Cody is a highly trained car mechanic specializing in Range Rovers and Jaguar and Mechi started her own Etsy store called Bay Dreem.

They had a dream of moving to Hawaii and saved everything for years to make the dream happen, and it did in February of this year. They rented a condo in Lahaina and packed all their belongings into this small one bedroom condo, Cody found a job at the Marriott resort and they began their new life in Hawaii.

I'm not going to detail the day of the fires because we have all seen the devastation, Cody acted fast and contacted Mechi to pack the important papers as he rushed home from work and they were able to escape to his work that was out of fire danger but their condo burned down with all his tools and everything else, Mechi saved her computer so she is still able to work and Cody still has his job at the Marriott, they are the lucky ones, the Marriott is housing them for a few weeks then they need to find housing.

They have a long road ahead of them, and if you know Cody you know how selfless he is when helping others and Mechi is the kindest soul I have ever known, to be honest they are incredible humans.
