Having recently moved to Oklahoma, I started cultivating the tools around me to build a script that is not only personal to me, but also addresses problems in our Oklahoma community.
CODE RED is the story of 13-year-old Kiara who gets her period at the most inconvenient time of her life, in the middle school cafeteria while her mother is incarcerated for stealing prescription drugs.
In this short film, I hope to shine a light on the issues of addiction and mothers in jail.
Your donations would go straight to our project by helping with costs to buy costumes, rent sets, etc., and all money will be used on-screen. We will be using all local talent and crew to create this short film. Many crew members will be trained during this shoot too!
Aiming to submit this film to the DeadCenter Film Festival, these funds would be needed by the end of January of 2020. All the help we can get will be greatly appreciated, and I am deeply grateful you are even here reading this now.
