Our Labrador has been the quiet heartbeat of our children’s home.
She is a trained therapy dog who offers calm, safety and comfort to children who have experienced trauma, loss and instability. She sits with children during difficult moments, joins them on gentle walks, and provides the kind of steady, unconditional presence that words and adults often cannot.
She has now suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury and requires specialist surgery to walk without pain again. Without it, her mobility will continue to deteriorate and she will no longer be able to do the work she loves — being there for children when they need her most.
This surgery is costly and not something we had planned for, but it is essential. Every contribution will go directly towards her operation, rehabilitation, and recovery, so she can return to a life free from pain and back to supporting children who rely on her calm presence every day.
By helping her heal, you are also helping some of the most vulnerable children feel safe, soothed and supported.
For three months she has been unable to walk, living quietly in one small room and only going outside to the toilet, and we are desperate to give her back the joyful, active life she deserves.
Thank you for caring, sharing, and helping us give back to the dog who gives so much.
