DOG LOVERS!! If you can kindly find in your heart to help our friend and Please take a minute out of your time to read. I am asking from the bottom of my heart first and foremost for all your prayers and loved to be sent for this sweet little guy Coco. Coco aka Loki man is a 9 year old cockapoo (who really has the heart and soul of a pup) has had a really rough and traumatic last week to say the very least. Coco went from being a completley healthy dog to barely making it in just a very few days. As we all know animals are so amazingly resilient and strong. This little Guy has that BIG dog personality with all the love, kisses and snuggles of a lap dog. He loves everyone and i’m pretty sure within 1 minutes of being around him your heart would melt. Coco has been living in NYC this past year after being born and living in Long Island most of his life and adapted extremely well I can actually say we tend to call him the mayor at times. He will greet any dog, human, kid with his little tag wagging and big wet kisses. Coco loves nothing more then going for walks with his Mom, his Aunties and one of his Aunties rescue pups and playing at the dog parks with friends he’s already made and new ones he meets. Tragedy struck June 7th 2018 when Coco’s mom came home to Vomit and thought at first ok a belly ache as these things tend to happen. Coco didn’t eat that night and by the next day proceeded to Vomit again and then he just wasn’t himself. They always say Momma knows best so my friend took him to Blue Pearl Specialty & Emergency Pet Hospital. We all know Vet Bills can be costly and especially considering Coco has always been healthy he did not have insurance. The initial Visit at Blue pearl for X-rays and Blood Work were $1,300. This is where it was discovered Coco had something in his intestine’s. My friends realized part of a tennis ball to a rope toy had been missing. The Vets recommended Coco went home and try to pass this on his own. Needless to say he couldn't and by the next day they were back at Blue Pearl having to pay another $5400 for another X-ray which was reviewed by surgeons and decided he needed surgery due to the location of where the tennis ball was in his intestines and now laying closely to his pancreas. Coco received the surgery Saturday June 9th 2018 they removed the tennis ball blockage without any other damage as the surgeons assured us had been done. “Everything looks perfectly healthy”. Great... Phew... God is amazing... we can breathe. He stays the night at Blue Pearl and comes home the evening of June 10th. Coco is extremely out of it. Barely wagging that tail that on any other day never stops and going from person to person sharing his love. Ok we understood major surgery, pain meds, hasn’t eaten.... still out of it. Monday rolls around he’s the same, Tuesday comes and he’s still not himself, still hasn’t eaten and is vomiting again. Momma knows best takes him back to Blue Pearl. Coco now at this point is in what hey say “Critical” condition. We find out that our sweet boy is septic. HOW IN GODS NAME DID THIS HAPPEN. My friend is a mess her baby she feels so helpless and confused. Not to mention another $7,000 bill. They need to stabilize him before they can operate again. WHAT! The emotional roller coaster, the stress of more vet bills and all our friend can think about his the priority COCO he is strong he is so loved he can make it thru anything while in tears says “I promised him I would get him a backyard to run around in” heartbreaking to say the very least.
The vets stabilize Coco and call in another surgeon for emergency surgery which he has last night June 11th. This surgery is complicated and say Coco has a 30% chance of making it. There are no other words then DEVASTATED. We Pray to god to help Coco thru this our strong little guy. The surgery is grueling hour and half... that felt like a day! The surgeon comes up and says surgery went well they drained the infection and re attached the intestine that was some how torn in a day??? Still baffled we are relived again this angel a true fighter. The surgeon explains this was the easy part and thankfully his bowel was in tact and all seemed to be healthy. He spends the night under around the minute care. Our friend receives a phone call today June 12th Coco had a really rough night and she should come in to spend time with him. How is this happening? Is this a bad dream. Coco’a blood pressure and heart rate are very low! He now needs Protein transfusion for nutrients and needs to stay another day/night @ $7,000!!! please any amount helps right now to take some stress off of all these costs we appreciate your kindness and generosity in advanced and will continue to update on our sweet Coco Boy. Miracles happen every day and we are NO WAY NO HOW giving up on this little guy. He has the fight in him and all the love on his side. He has a long road ahead and the next 3-5 days are critical and he needs to remain in ICU which is going to be costly. JUST PRAY ❤️
