Our sweet girl Cocoa injured her neck/shoulder. She cannot walk. We have exhausted our funds just trying to figure out what is going on, we are on the second round of steroids and have still seen no improvement. The veterinarian is 95% sure it is a cervical disc issue, for which she will need surgery to make a recovery. However, we cannot even afford the cost of an MRI to confirm this is the case.
Unfortunately, the only other option we have been given is to put her down if we can't afford the MRI and surgery.
The MRI will require a hospital stay which will include (as far as we know): MRI ($2800), Overnight board, anesthesia, catheter, medication and other medical expenses which they have informed us will be $2000-$3000 more.
We are at a loss, we have tried everything within our means and we haven't even been able to confirm what the problem is.
We've had Cocoa since she was 2 months old, and she means EVERYTHING to us. She is only 9 years old, and with the exception of this injury she has been in great health which is why we want to do everything possible before resigning to euthanasia.
The money from this GoFundMe will be entirely used to pay for Cocoa's MRI and subsequent medical costs.
We will update the goal of this GoFundMe if she needs a surgery.
