Hi, my name is Felix, and I'm fundraising money to help pay for necessary surgery on my 10-year-old male Yorkie named Coco. He developed stones in his bladder and began to experience difficulty urinating. While straining, he developed a perineal hernia, which means that the muscle that keeps the intestines and bladder inside the belly has weakened and torn. As luck has it, the hernia has pushed and overlapped his bladder back towards the anal gland area, making urination and proper defecation a dangerous challenge for him. Currently, he's on a temporary catheter to aid his urine release, but the only way to repair a perineal hernia and secure his bladder in the correct position is surgical.

This unfortunate issue couldn't come at the worst moment since I have been out of work for more than a year and have been struggling simply to provide basic needs for myself, my disabled wife and who we consider being our son, Coco.

The cost of the Emergency room (Veterinary Emergency Group in White Plains, NY) visit alone was a bit over $1,100, which was pretty much our savings. Still, the costs of the special surgeries hospital (Cornell University Vet Specialists in Stamford, Connecticut) for Coco's life-saving surgery are estimated to be between $14,000 - $16,000+. This cost does not include any potential surgery complications (if any) or post-surgery follow-ups + meds.

My wife and I opened our home and hearts to Coco when he was just two months old, and since we cannot have children due to my wife's disability, we have taken care of Coco like a child, and we genuinely see him as our son. The past year has been financially straining, and I never imagined that something like this would occur to our sweet boy.

I'm humbly asking for donations to have this surgery performed on Coco and to have our sweet boy back on his feet and at home where he belongs.
