Coco Chanel’s surgery Crisis: A Family's Plea
Donación protegida
I honestly didn’t want to do something like this but I’m left to hope good people like yourselves can help in this ongoing situation I along with my wife (Robin) are in. It started back in September when my mom passed away, and on the same day of my mom’s passing my wife had a mental breakdown where she ended up in a psychiatric ward for extreme depression. My wife wasn’t able to attend my mother’s funeral during her time in the ward. She really went through hell and back. I took a few months off from work to care for her once she was able to leave the hospital. Caring for my wife was really challenging for me. I had to do practically everything including bathing her, and making sure she ate. She wound up losing 40 pounds during her depression. Thank goodness I had good insurance that practically covered everything except a few hundred dollars that I had to pay. A few months go by of seeing the wrong psychiatrists and getting the wrong medications. She started to see another psychiatrist and finally was able to figure out what she needed to be on. She finally started to show big signs of improvements. Then I decided to get her a puppy. We named her Coco Chanel. She’s a beautiful chocolate Shihpoo. For those that don’t know what a Shihpoo is it’s a half Shih Tzu and half Poodle. Well after a few days of having her we noticed she was peeing a lot, and usually on the last pee of a sequenced of four or five she would have blood in her urine. We took Coco to the veterinarian to see what the problem was. The vet after supplying to urine sample for testing came back as a UTI. So we got medication and gave it to Coco. After a week of medicine there was no improvement. So again we went to the veterinarian and this time after an ultrasound, and bloodwork we were told Coco Chanel has Bladder stones, and has Microvascular dysplasia (MVD). Microvascular dysplasia is a condition characterized by abnormal development or absence of the microscopic blood vessels (capillaries) in various organs, most commonly the liver. She will need surgery to repair the main vessel going to her liver, and removing the stones from the bladder. Once the liver has been repaired chances of forming stones in the bladder decrease drastically. With all this going on my wife is still in recovery mode and with this situation we are going through isn’t helping in her recovery. The price of this surgery plus medication only for Coco’s recovery is going to exceed $7,000 dollars. I’m not a person for accepting handouts, but right now I’m the only bread winner with my wife out of work, and to be honest when I got the puppy I never imagined this would be the outcome. We have gotten so attached to this little one that we truly love her. She is the cutest, calm, and lovable puppy we have ever have. We don’t want to lose her. We’re asking for a little help. Thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts.
