“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate action of its members.”
Our community has come together and is on the verge of creating an entirely new reality for the future of all production personnel. IATSE and AICP have reached a neutrality agreement allowing them to move to the next stages of making the future a much brighter one for us all.
This dream has only occurred due to the courage of Erin Wile and Cheyenne Cage. They took a tremendous risk, taking actions and speaking out on behalf of all of us. It took an enormous amount of courage and sacrifice. Most of us in the industry have not taken these steps for fear of losing the favor of our employers and risking our livelihoods.
Prior to walking off that fateful job last October, Erin Wile had a prosperous career as a well-respected and much sought-after TV commercial line producer. She has not had one call for work since that day.
Not one single call for work.
As a result, she has had no income from her formerly successful career and is on the brink of losing her family’s health insurance coverage.
She has kept her head held high and has been the catalyst for all the positive changes in our industry these last twelve months. Most of the production community has had rate increases as a result of the dialogues she and Cheyenne started. And now, we are about to have a seat at the table with AICP due to the relationships that they were able to build with IATSE. Their work has been awe-inspiring and unrelentingly optimistic on our behalf.
Erin is our own Norma Rae and we must have her back. The loss of health insurance for her family of four is a burden that is too much for Erin to bear alone. Her actions brought us together in an unprecedented way. We need to show up for her, as she has for us.
The cost to keep her family insured on their current plan through Cobra for the next year will be a staggering $29,424. Let’s keep her family covered to show how we have evolved into a community that can stand up for one another in challenging times.
Now that we have locked arms and have become a family, it is our hope that we can always know that we have one another to count on.
Let’s all do our part to support an important person in our production family and raise the money to keep Erin’s family’s health insurance coverage intact.
WE CAN DO THIS!!!!
