“Cobi’s Fight”

We have recently received some devastating news concerning Cobis Cancer. As most of you all know Cobi was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in June 2020.

Cobi is a huge Rugby & Football person and a massive Arsenal Fan. 

Since being diagnosed over a year ago, He’s gone on to complete his degree with first class honours (During Treatment), he’s gone on to become the President of the Students’ Union at the University Of SouthWales. He is also the First Team rugby coach at the University Of South Wales’ Rugby Team.  He managed to create his own Football team at the beginning of his diagnosis with friends and that team is still thriving strongly.

 

All whilst trying to overcome this horrible disease for the past 18months.  After numerous treatments, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy a transplant and lots of back and forth visits to the hospital during the pandemic. He was told that he had cleared up almost fully apart from a pea size amount. They weren’t sure what this was In April time. .

 

On Christmas week we have now received the news that Cobi isn’t cancer free. His battle is not over and he will now need more treatment.

His Cancer is very much live and active and is surrounding his main arteries which makes it very difficult to carry out a biopsy to obtain the correct diagnosis to proceed with the best plan for treatment. After exhausting almost every option for treatment this is now his only option.

 

Cobi is a massive part of the community, he is an amazing role model for all the youngsters and has given so much time to them all coaching them even at his weakest going through chemo. He still stood on that pitch in the freezing cold rain making sure he did not let anyone down.

 

As a family we are completely devastated that Cobi has to go through this battle and we really want to help him get the right treatment.

We need a second opinion as we don’t have time to waste and we are running out of options.

He is only 26 years old he has his whole Life ahead of him and we want to make sure he gets to plan and look forward to the future without living with this cancer battle every day.

 

We need to raise money to pay for his specialist treatment. We have looked into private treatment and it does not come cheap. We are asking you all as a community to get behind Cobi and this is why We are setting up this go fund page to pay for Cobi’s treatment that he needs. Please donate as little or as much as you can every little helps and we will be eternally grateful. We are also looking to organise some fundraising events. If anyone has any ideas we would be so grateful. We would love for local businesses to get onboard. Please anything that you can think of will help him. If we can get Cobi’s story out there far and wide and Let’s all get behind Cobi to ensure he lives a long and happy life like he deserves.
