Some of you may know that this journey is deeply personal to me. A few years ago, I lost my mum to the "devilish disease" of dementia. Watching her fight with such incredible strength, and seeing the toll it took on her and our family, left a permanent mark on my heart. This experience showed me just how important it is to support not only the victims themselves but also the families who are fighting alongside them.
To honor my mum and help others facing this terrible illness, I'm taking on the Trans Pennine Trek with my best friend Jamal, a 224-mile cycling challenge. This isn't just a bike ride; it's a tribute to her strength and a way for me to help spread a little awareness to this important matter.
Every penny raised will go directly to Dementia UK. The funds will be used to provide emotional support for families via virtual clinics, fund patient transport to appointments, contribute to helpline that provides free and confidential support to anyone affected by dementia and aid imperative research.
No matter how small or how large, by supporting this journey you are not only donating money to support the cause, but you're helping to provide a necessary lifeline to families who are navigating one of the most difficult journeys of their lives.
Thank you.
