Please sponsor Jim and Ceri on their Coast to Coast walk to raise funds for the Lancashire School Sailing Association (LSSA) 'New Boathouse' project and its 'Water Days' event for young people.
Jim and Ceri aim to walk 192 miles from St.Bees on the Cumbrian West Coast to Robin Hood's Bay on the UK's East Coast, raising money for the LSSA with every step they take. On route they will climb many thousand feet of ascent in the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors National Parks.
The LSSA is a registered charity (No: 1169755) providing opportunities for young people to enjoy the excitement of sailing, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding, at low cost and in a safe environment.
It's annual 'Water Days' weekend on Coniston Water, introduces hundreds of young people to a variety of watersports for a nominal cost.
The LSSA now aims to develop it's RYA accredited sailing centre at Fishmoor Reservoir by building a purpose-built Boathouse, featuring changing facilities, training rooms and secure boat storage.
Celebrating it's 60th Anniversary in 2026, the LSSA has introduced 1,000s of young people to watersports, teaching them new skills, giving them leadership experience and benefitting their educational and employment opportunities.
Planning permission has been granted for the new Boathouse and funding is now needed to enable our Solicitor to successfully complete the negotiation of the long-term lease agreements.
The money raised by Jim and Ceri's Coast to Coast challenge will go towards the LSSA's new Boathouse project and the 2026 'Water Days' event, directly benefiting 100's of young people.
All funds raised will go directly into the LSSA charity's bank account and if you select Gift Aid, HMRC will add 25% to your donation at no extra cost to you.
If you can, please donate to the LSSA by sponsoring Jim and Ceri on their Coast to Coast challenge. Thank you!
