Blue Marine Foundation (BLUE) is a charity dedicated to restoring the ocean to health by addressing overfishing, one of the world's biggest environmental problems. The ocean is the world's largest carbon sink (taking up 30% of carbon emissions and 90% of excess heat from climate change): by combatting overfishing, we can help life in the ocean perform its vital function of stabilising the Earth's climate and protect a vast global network of interconnected marine ecosystems.

Especially, here in Devon practices like bottom trawling (dragging massive nets across the ocean floor), are still used in marine protected areas, leaving large habitat destruction in their wake. This is unacceptable and something we decided we needed to fight against.

On October 3-4th we are doing a two day cycle to raise money for the Blue Marine Foundation a charity that specializes in overfishing, by combining high-profile legal challenges against governments, policy advocacy, and the promotion of sustainable, low-impact fishing models.

Together with your help, we can work to tackle the emptying of oceans of life, one of the largest, most pressing and yet most solvable environmental challenges we face.
