Hello! My name is Jake Lachowsky. After 28 years of serving on active duty in the US Coast Guard, I have decided to retire. The past 28 years have been an amazing adventure, and an honor serving my country. Now that I have some time off, and before I start my next career, I wanted to tackle another adventure. One that will allow me to reset, be present in the moment, and challenge me in every way. I've decided to cycle the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR), from Banff, Alberta Canada, to Antelope Wells, New Mexico. The route is nearly 2700 miles in length, and It's the world's longest off-pavement bicycle touring route. I crosses two Canadian territories, and five states. I will be starting my ride with my best friend, James, on July 8th, 2025. While I'm away, I will be missing out on supporting my favorite organization: The Grassfield High School Marching Band from Chesapeake, VA. The band is highly competitive, and filled with the most talented musicians and color guard in Virginia. I'd like to use this opportunity to raise money to support this group of amazing, and talented kids!
I'm asking you to sponsor a mile of my trip from Canada to Mexico. 1 mile = $1.00 With you help, we can raise $2700 which equals 2700 miles that I am attempting to pedal across the United States. All the proceeds will go directly to the Grassfield High School Band Parents Association, which will help fund our Marching Band operating expenses during the 2025 Marching Competition season.
Thank you for your support!!!!!
