Coast & Castles Bike Ride April 23

Family are coming together from across the UK to cycle the Coast and Castles route from Sunderland to Edinburgh in memory of Gavin Sword who passed away unexpectedly in 2021, and to raise funds for charity.

The 165 mile cycle ride will take place over three days during the Bank holiday weekend at the end of April 2023. Gavin cycled the route with his training friend and it will be lovely to follow the route he took along the beautiful north east coastline and at the same time raise funds for the British Heart Foundation and Sunderland Special Olympics.

The donations raised as a result of the ride will be split evenly between the two charities. Sunderland Special Olympics is a local charity which Gavin supported and which aims to help children and adults with intellectual disabilities participate in sport and make friends. The British Heart Foundation is a national charity which funds life-saving research into heart and circulatory diseases.
