My name is Asia, and I just recently launched my own business called Coalesce X, LLC. The goal of my company is to provide inspiring and unique services to treatment centers, recovery programs, and individuals in the Los Angeles area. Right now, Coalesce X is primarily focused on providing group facilitation, which is an essential service employed by all treatment centers or programs in some capacity for the purpose of therapeutic group discussions, psychoeducation, and connection in early recovery. Group facilitation and the subsequent documentation is also a key component in any established or accredited program for billable services, funding, monitoring client progress, basic assessment, etc. We are equipped to offer a variety of additional services that are unique to the recovery world such as one-on-one coaching, discharge planning and support as one reintegrates into society after treatment, training for aspiring counselors and group facilitators, and consultation about various quality assurance aspects of running a successful treatment program while adhering to the demand of accrediting agencies and insurance.

So who am I and what’s my story? I have been been working in the recovery field for the last few years as a CADC counselor, case manager, life coach, group facilitator, sober companion, and consultant. I started off as an intern in the clinical department at a large non-profit treatment center in West LA with less than $100 to my name, and since then I have worked my way up to where I am today within the context of that organization and the wider recovery-community in Los Angeles. I have my own personal lived experience with addiction, trauma, and mental health issues, and have been active in my own recovery consistently since 2019. My personal life experience combined with my education, certifications, and work experience significantly contribute to my skill and efficacy as a professional in this field.

I started my first business when I was eleven-years-old. I wasn’t quite old enough to babysit, so I made flyers to stick in people’s mailboxes and marketed myself to the neighborhood as a mother’s helper. I have been working consistently since age 16 and take great pride in my ability to provide for myself and never settle for anything less than what feels most authentic and invigorating. I have an overwhelming amount of energy, excitement, and zest for life. The various layers and contradictions that are built into who I am (as I think is the case for many of us) are part of what make me so effective, and part of what ensures the success of my business and professional pursuits. To restructure one’s deep wounds and extract the core gifts that lie at the root… THAT is what recovery means to me. THAT is what this business means to me. How could I possibly find a way to honor the many facets of who I am as a person and as a professional? How could I lay the foundation upon which to continue to build and expand and I continue to grow and evolve? This is where Coalesce X, LLC comes into play… to not only allow me to execute my dream, but to also allow others to connect to their own unique sense of empowerment and healing in their own journeys.

My mission as a recovery professional is to help people connect to an authentic sense of excitement, personal agency, and hope for their future. Anyone seeking treatment for SUD or any other maladaptive coping mechanisms are facing more than just the substances or the behaviors, and recovery is about so much more than just helping individuals learn not to do drugs or rely on unhealthy coping mechanisms; it’s about sorting through all of that and finding a way to address the very things that addiction temporarily “solved”. My experience on both sides of the treatment world (in addition to my immersion in the world of therapy, clinical psychology, and holistic healing) have allowed me to gain insight into what works, what doesn’t work, and what some of the more effective approaches are in working with unique individuals looking to improve their lives and recover from their past trauma, addiction, and pain in order to rebuild their lives.

While I have made great progress, it’s now that time where rubber hits the road. I have resigned from my full-time employment as a counselor at Beit T’Shuvah and stepped solely into self-employment as of June 2023. I have outlined my next indicated steps; developed realistic solutions to possible challenges that may arise in the future; have put forth the initial investment into legitimizing my company and preparing to take on the costs of my own health insurance, vacation days, and retirement savings; and have been actively strategizing about different ways to build my client-base and legitimize the business model that I am executing. I have specific short-term and long-term goals outlined for my business designed to support the growth and expansion I am capable of without compromising my values or the sustainability and efficacy of my vision.

I would not have been able to get to where I am today where it not for the support, guidance, and opportunities I was lucky enough to receive from others throughout my life, and specifically throughout the last four years. My intention in creating this page is to call upon and cultivate that spirit of gratitude and humility as I embark on this next endeavor and continue to build upon the foundation I have already begun to establish as a woman in recovery, hard-working professional, and status-quo challenger for the greater good of the individuals and organizations I work with in this capacity. All of this being said, your support and contribution today will help ensure that I have the time, resources, and opportunities to really focus on building this business THE RIGHT WAY from the ground up. My hope is to dedicate my time to learning the ins and outs of running my business and therefore create more opportunities for success going forward. I’d like to invest in an online presence as I continue to acquaint myself with the intricacies of running my business; build my brand; and find effective ways to market my services. I’d like to strategize to ensure that I never have to compromise on any of the necessary expenses that come with the territory of running my own company and stepping away from full-time employment.

Right now, Coalesce X, LLC is focused on providing group facilitation, one-on-one coaching, and other consultation services for treatment centers and recovery communities. I envision engaging in various public/motivational speaking roles in the future and have already begun working on a book (my life story) that I hope to publish within the next couple of years. As I continue to progress in my personal development, I see Coalesce X, LLC evolving into a birthplace of creativity, self-expression, and accessible empowerment for individuals regardless of their life experiences and backgrounds.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and thank you in advance for any support or encouragement you can offer. Whether it's a financial contribution, a referral, or wisdom/advice from any of you that have insight and experience navigating this kind of venture... Fill in the blank. Anything and everything will mean the world to me. Truly. (Those of you that know me know that “mean the world to me” is far from hyperbolic.) I am in the process of building up my network and support system, and any contribution or encouragement you can offer will mean the world to me. I look forward to continuing to expand and solidify this dream, and I would be so honored if you would be a part of it.
