Hi, my name is Christine, and I’m fundraising for a man who has saved countless lives — Mr Guoji, a quiet hero in China who rescues dogs from the meat trade. One of those lives he saved is now my beautiful girl Willow.

Willow was found on a meat truck, bound for slaughter. She had been sold into the trade by her previous owner, frightened and broken. But Mr Guoji stepped in — one man against the odds — and pulled her, and so many others, back from that nightmare. Without him, Willow would never have known safety, warmth, or love.

Today, Willow lives in Scotland. She’s a therapet, visiting people who need comfort. She sits quietly beside care-home chairs, her soft eyes bringing peace to those who’ve lost their own. Every calm breath she takes is a miracle that began with Mr Guoji’s courage.

But now, as winter closes in, Mr Guoji faces a struggle. His rescue shelters hundreds of dogs who depend on him for survival — and to keep them warm through the freezing months, he needs coal for heat. The cost is beyond what he can manage alone.

I can’t bear the thought of the very man who gave Willow life again watching his dogs shiver through the cold because there’s no fuel. So I’m asking for help — for coal, for warmth, for the rescuer who never turns away.
