Coach to Kona Campaign

The story is simple.  Start running at 32.  Run first marathon at 33. Conquer qualifying and running the Boston Marathon at 37. At 40, complete first Ironman in quest to the next goal of qualifying for the Ironman World Championships.

At 44, after 17 marathons and 3 Ironmans, my commitment to the world of endurance sports took a twist - as I fell into the wonderful and rewarding world of coaching others to challenge their limits in the same arena.

From day one, I knew that to be the best coach I could be, I had to lead by example, share through my experiences as an athlete, and never ask my athletes to do more than I am asking of myself.  And for four years, I did just that, staying true to my goals as an athlete as I helped my athletes do the same.

But this past year, I took on more as a coach and suffered set backs as an athlete that challenged that mission.  And it has become very clear that to continue coaching, I need to get my commitment as athlete back on track... and fast!

My quest?  The same I set for myself after crossing my first finish at the Boston Marathon – qualify for the Ironman World Championships.  And with 6 Ironmans and 21 marathons under my belt, a new age group designation quickly approaching, and roster of talented athletes loyal to my coaching, the quest is back with a vengeance!

The goal is big and the costs are bigger.  And immediate! I am fast approaching my 7th Ironman at the end of the week (IM Mont Tremblant) which is going to serve as a vital foundation in part to my Kona quest with my new coach, Ironman Champion Dede Griesbauer.   And I need your help getting me to and through this race in part to the training cost, travel/hotel expenses, equipment, and more.  Seems a short term investment but I promise it will carry into my role as coach in part to this journey and beyond.

I've coached over 400 athletes through many first, farthest, fastest races.  I have the privilage of working on a direct bases with over 40 amazing multi sport athletes in part to my CT3 Training Team, and want to broaden my reach to offer guidance and inspiration to those still waiting to test their limits.

Your support of my quest to Kona – in the immediate and as it can be down the line – does that.  By giving me the chance to push my limits so I can help others do the same.  And to show that age is no limit.

What your contribution applies to:

*  Travel/Hotel/Equipment expenses for IMMT  (immediate!)
*  Investment in continued training/race expenses through until target IM race in 2016 or quest for Kona is achieved.
*  Support of CT Coaching and the direct impact this quest will have on my outreach to others and my ability to invest funds into my business that would otherwise apply to this quest.

What can I say but thanks for getting this far into the quest and the consideration of joining me both in spirit and in support as possible.

As the Coach T saying goes -- let's rev it up and rally me to Ironman Mont Tremblant on route to Kona together!!

Thanks!
