Coach's Call: Big Mike Needs Your Help

What’s up fam, you guys know I’ve been coaching football in the state of Maryland public high schools since 1997. Well, now I have ventured into the private sector. I have a kid that I coached for the last two years at Owings Mills, an African Nigerian kid whose parents don’t really care about sports at all. They don’t understand that this may be an opportunity for him to go to college for free, and then who knows where he’ll be after that.

I’ve already financially helped out two other kids before. I knew I could get this kid; by the way, he’s 6’5” and 280 pounds. Needless to say, he doesn’t have the money to pay for school. Our Lady of Mount Carmel tuition is $17,000. Between the school and donations, we got it down to $5,000, still way too much for his people to pay as they live in a two-bedroom apartment with four people.

In all my years of coaching, I chose you guys because you have supported me. I think this will be a great opportunity for this kid, and he really wants to come. I am asking you guys if you could donate $100 to help Big Mike change his life. I really am uncomfortable doing this as you guys are like family, and some of you are family. I would really hate to lose this kid over a couple thousand dollars, but like I said, I’ve already sponsored two other kids, and I just don’t have it. If you don’t feel comfortable, I totally understand. You’ll still be my people, and I love y’all. Just trying to help this kid change his life...

On a sidenote, lol, if I land this kid, it will be the biggest recruit Mount Carmel has ever got, and I will be loved for it lol. Thanks, y’all.
