Lucy Moore's Wheelchair Fund

Happy New Year, Lakewood Aquatics Families!  I hope this message finds you and your family healthy and happy.  Some months ago, I had the idea that we, as Lakewood Aquatics Families, should do something collectively for the MS community, in honor of Coach Lucy. Most all of us know that Lucy has MS, but few of us know what we can do to help the MS community, or help Lucy directly. After some conversation with Lucy, I found out that she is in need of her own wheelchair. The chair Lucy is currently using is borrowed from Connie Tirambulo and is not fitted to Lucy’s body or physical needs. We would like to have a chair custom made for Lucy (sized to her, and customized style-wise for her). I think this is a great opportunity to unite the Lakewood Aquatics Family and help someone who has had such a lasting impact on our kids and their passion for swimming.

The construction of the chair will take 3 months, after we are able to secure a 50% deposit to get things started. Rick Tirambulo will be our liaison with the chair builder(s) and getting Lucy's measurements for her new chair. The funds collected will mainly go towards getting Lucy the new chair. If there is additional money, we will be able to fix up the current chair, so we can “pay it forward” to someone else in need. Timing is incredibly important here as we need to get the chair construction going ASAP. Please help in any way you can financially and please help spread the word to any and all Lakewood Aquatics families and alumni.
