CoachCarter needs stem cell therapy

Donation protected
I need stem cell treatments for two knees and my right ankle because of severe arthritis. I suffered a stroke in November of 2016, which resulted in further deterioration in my condition. I am no longer stable on my feet. I use a cane and have extreme difficulty going on up and down stairs, walking, getting in and out of the car, etc. The stroke came as quite a shock as I had been feeling healthy. I have been coaching young people in tennis and basketball for over thirty years. Besides the lingering stroke effects related to my walking and balance, I am grateful to have recovered my memory. When I was in intensive care because of my stroke they also discovered that I had colon cancer.  8 cm of my colon was removed and fortunately I am now cancer free. They also discovered I was anemic and gave me five blood transfusions.
After making a pretty remarkable recovery, I am more committed than ever to giving back to the community and I want to get back to working with kids.
The stem cell therapy I want to do isn't covered by MediCare or the VA  healthcare system. (I am a veteran with two years of active service in the Air Force from 1963-65 and 1965-69 in the reserve. My duty was to re-fuel and de-fuel Air Force One.)
The therapy, will be administered by Downtown's Healthcare (www.downtownshealthcare.com)in Denver, CO. It involves a stem cell injection in both of my knees and right ankle, with a follow-up booster, and rehab therapy. I qualify for the 20% veteran discount, but the price is still out of reach at $18,899.50. I have some family support that will cover $7,500 towards this, leaving $11,399 still to be raised.
I am a U.S.P.T.A. certified tennis pro. I have devoted my life to teaching our youth. I use tennis and basketball as vehicles for teaching important life lessons like sportsmanship, integrity, and respecting  each other.  As long as they continue to build more prisons than schools, my mission will continue to be to work with young people to help navigate growing up in these times. I haven't gotten rich doing this work, but I am hopeful that I've made a difference. To continue to do so in this vein, I need to regain my mobility.
Thank you for any generosity you are able to contribute to my campaign. By your being a part of my solution, I can continue to stay on mission. Time is of the essence due to the degenerative nature of the arthritis.
