Love for Coach Taylor

You're donations are at work! As promised, the event to uplift and celebrate Coach Taylor will be on September 30, 2023! Funds for his aftercare are still needed. Read Coach Taylor's story to understand why your help is still needed.

Coach Taylor is what they call him…And Coach Taylor may never Coach at a school again because he needs a Heart Transplant and a Kidney Transplant. He has been evaluated by the Heart and Kidney Transplant Committees at Cedars Sinai, completed his physician evaluation clearances, and on July 14, 2023, Coach Taylor was notified that he has been placed on the National Transplant List to await Surgery.

It broke my heart when I first heard his story. I experienced the pain he feels and can see the sadness in his eyes as he re-lives his story constantly, which is not helping his medical condition. Although he puts on a strong front in front of family and friends, it's the moments of silence that stand out the most...The times when he is quiet and deep in thought, that is when you see the sadness and pain on his face. Oh, what I wouldn’t give to catch a glimpse of "real" happiness in his eyes and replace his sad reality with a positive one. Here is Coach Taylor's story and why I need you to join me in supporting this worthy cause. This is why your help is urgently needed...

Coach Taylor is a humble, kind-hearted, mild-spirited Soul that dedicated 40 years of his life as a School Teacher and Varsity Football Coach for several schools: Inglewood High, University High, St. Monica High, Bassett High, Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary High School, St. Paul High, Dorsey High, Pasadena City College, LA Valley College, Compton College, and Southwest College. He was also an Athletic Director Assistant for Cantwell. He was dedicated to teaching, developing, and coaching student-athletes. Some had never played Football before but are now thriving athletes. Under Coach Taylor's Leadership, he taught them the fundamentals of football, coached them to League Championships, and instilled life goals, making a difference that changed their lives. Coach Taylor went the extra mile, even sacrificing his family to impact the lives of the students he coached. Several of his students went on to play College Football and play in the NFL. He had such a positive influence on their lives that some invited him to their games and still keep in contact with him today. Other athletes he coached, like his son, became Coaches, instilling Coach Taylor's legacy and developing more athletes at other schools.

Coach Taylor's many contributions while coaching included raising funds for Football and Track Programs, building state-of-the-art workout Gyms, remodeling Coach’s Offices, and volunteering for community and school events. Not being able to coach and be the change in a student's life has devastated and saddened him. An event to uplift, acknowledge, and celebrate someone who has given so much and positively influenced so many students is the right thing to do.

Needing both a Heart and Kidney Transplant has caused a significant blow to Coach Taylor’s finances, switching the majority financial burden on family members and making it difficult for him to finance anything more than bare life essentials. So, this campaign is to raise funds to celebrate him and help him. The funds raised is funding a special event for Coach Taylor. An event that would lift his spirits and surround him with all his student-athletes, coaches, family, and friends. Your donation will not only be used to put on the event; it will also be used to purchase a Plaque, awards, and certificates acknowledging Coach Taylor's past contributions to the success of his student-athletes.

A dual Heart and Kidney Transplant will require much aftercare and medications that may not be covered under Coach Taylor's health insurance; therefore after the event, any additional funds raised will best be used for his aftercare.

I am Kari Taylor, and it would mean so much if you would join me in this heartfelt effort to help celebrate Coach Taylor and help with his aftercare after his surgery. Your Gift can make a difference in his life.
