Our beloved Coach Steven has fallen to an unfortunate accident at our annual Field Day and Picnic – a typical guys-will-be-guys scenario: games, food, beverages, beach, and of course some healthy and friendly competition.
A long time yoga instructor, CrossFit coach and all around great man, unicorn, and life mentor, Coach Steven’s livelihood and well-being revolves around fitness and wellness and the relationships and guidance he builds with and offers for us, his students, athletes, friends and family.
Fast forward to days after Field Day, our friend and Coach realized the true gravity of that accidental mishap. A doctor visit, ultrasound, in office procedure, and MRI later, we arrive at a foreboding conclusion.
Our coach needs complete ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) reconstruction, meniscus repair, and physical therapy for a period after the procedures.
The downside of his passion and line of work is the non-existence of paid sick days, PTO, or affordable health insurance. And so the scary truth Coach Steven is staring down the barrel of is the entire cost of surgery and PT that needs to come out of his pocket.
It’s time for us to rally as much as possible and give back to Coach – for his support, his love, his dedication and heart. To cover the costs of surgery and rehab, we need to achieve a goal of $20,000 – especially since he’s being set back by the time lost from work while he goes under the knife and recovers.
He is determined to get back to 100% for his CrossFit athletes and yoga students; we’re determined to help him return to the body he relies on for this livelihood and passion.
To anyone who can donate $25.00 or more, Coach Steven will send a link to a custom 1 . hour guided yoga practice. The practice will include modifications, peppered with mobility exercises for his fellow CrossFitters.
It’s his way of saying thank you to all of us shoring up support and helping him through this setback. Any amount contributed is appreciated; and none is too small. Additionally, any monies above and beyond the goal will be passed along to someone else in need of a helping hand.
Thank you for your interest, your support, your generosity, and for passing this along in an effort to bring our friend, Coach Steven, to a speedy recovery.
