Hello, My name is Coach Starr and I am one of 2 Physical Education teachers at Lakeside High School teaching Weight Training. I am also serving as the Head Football and Track Coach. I am hoping to raise money to help replace some of the damaged and missing items from our school's weightroom. As a classroom teacher, our work space is our second home. As a person who spends the majority of my time in LHS' weightroom, I have noticed that our classroom has seen better days! We have some leaks that cause our metal bars and plates to rust very easily. Many of the rubber bumper plates have broken or are cracked (which will soon break apart completely) due to regular wear-and-tear. Our weightroom is used as a classroom during the day for ALL LHS students and after school many of our Varsity and Sub-Varsity teams use the weightroom to improve ourselves. We have a nice space but we have been limited by a lack of weights, belts, clamps, plyo boxes, dumbbells and barbells along with some small facility repairs and a fresh coat of paint!

I know that I could do much more with my P.E. Classes if I had aerobic step platforms, jump ropes, kettle bells and other equipment to help kids workout. We are a school that has always had the ability to grow as our needs have grown, but somehow we have been left behind in this area. Please help us to move our weightroom forward in the right direction! GO VIKINGS!!!
