Dear Family & Friends,
I am facing a serious medical condition, and sadly, am without health insurance. I have recently been diagnosed with Advanced Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy. This has caused macular edema in both of my eyes, and a tracking retinal detachment in my left eye. Diabetic Retinopathy encourages an excess growth of unstable blood vessels at the back of eye which can interfere with the proper refraction of light necessary for clear sight. The overgrowth of weakened vessels leak fluid into the white vitreous area of the eye resulting in clouded, dim and spotty vision. If left untreated, the excessive buildup of fluid will end in total blindness.
There is little hope to restore full vision in my left eye due to its detached retina. Though, corrective surgery is still possible to halt the damage in my right eye, and also to restore its lost sight. The only obstacle to restoring my vision is a lack of funding necessary to schedule this emergency surgery. Without surgical intervention, blindness is imminent. Friends, my need is urgent.
I need to immediately raise $18,000 to fund this surgery. This amount will cover the hospital, surgeon, anesthesiologist and all ancillary fees related to the surgery. I am praying that God will work in the hearts of friends, families and coaching colleagues dear to me to raise the funds needed to restore my vision. Your gift of $1,000, $500, $250 or any amount would be greatly appreciated. It would prevent the immediate and catastrophic impact of impending blindness and its affects on my family, career and every facet of life.
Timing is of the utmost urgency. Thank you sincerely for your prayerful consideration. Please feel free to call me if you would like to learn more about Diabetic Retinopathy or ways that you can help. I am grateful for your hearts of compassion and any assistance you may be able to offer.
God bless you, and to God be the glory.
