Coach Nowell

He is a husband, father, a friend, a mentor, and a very famous Coach that thousand know as    "Coach"

Coach Danny Nowell : "If you are injured you will not play in the game, BUT if you are hurt, can you play through the pain to win this game?"

Coach is in the battle of his life right now with a Chondro`- sarcoma cancer in his C2 - C4 vertebrae.  Since his 33 hour, 3 day surgery at Vanderbilt hospital in Nashville back in September 2019 to remove the sarcoma, his family has been struggling with the enormous change of life and medical expenses that insurance does not cover.
As a friend of this family I am writing to ask for any help that you can offer to give them some relief of this enormous financial burden cancer has inflicted on their lives.
The 33 hour surgery which was the only one ever done at Vanderbilt did not completely remove the sarcoma leaving 25% behind.
In just 8 short months the 25% left behind started to grow at a very aggressive rate.
The  Only possible element of hope for this battle Coach is facing is a Proton Beam treatment offered at Emory in Atlanta, Ga.

Coach's family has stayed by his side and have honored his decision and desire to fight. That being said, Coach's family have had to make sacrifices with their employment to take turns traveling to and from Georgia to care for Coach. The expenses of lodging, gas, and some medications are not covered by insurance and have now exhausted their funds. There are only one or two Sarcoma foundations but nothing really for housing, or traveling expenses for the treatments he needs to win this battle. The proton beam treatments are proving to be a benefit however limited funds for housing due to the COVID-19 virus.  Most housing institutions have been and remain closed due to COVID-19.

Coach Danny Nowell started his career coaching football in Humboldt, TN from 1971 - 1988.  He then moved to Franklin, Tn where he was the football coach at Franklin High school. During his 18 tenure at Franklin high he was the recipient of many awards ie, Defensive, Offensive, and Golf coach of the year.
He retired from coaching in Franklin 2004 when he had his first battle with throat cancer. After Coach beat that battle with cancer he went on the coach Hattiesburg, MS,  - Brewton, Alabama - Florida and recently in Greenville Alabama.  After Coach's first battle with Cancer he went back to coaching with the desire to help inner city children succeed at their dreams in any sport.

Coach Nowell was famous for rebuilding teams, and rebuilding lives, especially lives of children who had no mentors or role models or who were living at or below poverty levels..
As a friend and a witness to his passion and love for sports and people in general, I have personally been around when Coach would visit a family of child on his team that he fed, gave rides to and from practice, counseled their families and so much more.

If you know Coach, played for him or are friends with him, please help spread this fund around as this family needs financial support for the ongoing medical cost to help Coach Danny with this game.

On behalf of the family, I would like to extend their sincere gratitude for your support, love , care and prayers!
