Any young man that had the privilege to play for Max Dowis will never forget the experience.

Max Dowis coached the Savannah Country Day Hornets and poured his heart and soul into each of his 13 teams. If you played for Max, you know what it means to out work the competition. Coach Dowis positively influenced and molded every student athlete's life on campus.  He encouraged and taught life lessons along the way, whether you played football or not.

Plans are in the works for an event to honor Max and Joyce Dowis this upcoming Homecoming weekend. However, along the way, we learned that Coach and Mrs. Dowis recently lost their house to a fire in December, and are living with Mike's family. We put this page together as a simple way for any of his players, students or fans, who'd like to assist our old ball coach. While we know that he or his family would never expect a thing... we thought collectively his old players may want to do something nice for a man that did so much for so many.
