Coach Matt's Courageous Journey

Hi, my name is Chris Eagles. I am the youth hockey coordinator for the Lafayette Locomotive Hockey Club. Recently, one of our coaches, friends, and most passionate supporters was diagnosed with cancer. Matt Morton has been a constant presence here and has left an indelible mark on many young people at the Lafayette YMCA. Whether coaching his own team, assisting another, or just kicking around the rink eager to help players develop, Matt's outwardly passionate personality has been felt by nearly everyone who has stepped into the Carlston Ice Arena.

Throughout Matt's tenacious battle, he has remained active in skating with various groups and is a full-time assistant coach on our 18UA team. Although Matt recently finished his last dose of treatment, this fundraiser is set up to help him and his family relieve some of the financial burdens of battling this terrible disease.
