Coach Marty's Son's Spinal Tap Fund
Donation protected
In 2016, Jack Brillantine, Coach Marty's son, was diagnosed with leukemia. The Brillantine family has been fighting this battle valiantly while he undergoes years of chemotherapy, hospital visits due to a depleted immune system etc. This year I learned that Jack must undergo spinal tap procedures every three months. Their insurance company does not pay for sedation during these very painful treatments. Thus, Marty and his wife Jen have been paying for this out of pocket so their son does not have to feel the terrible pain of this treatment each time it has to be done .
Since the diagnosis our Potomac soccer team has rallied around the Brillantine family's fight. During the first year the team walked with Jack, Jen and Marty at the Leukemia and Lymphoma "Light the Night" walk . I am asking our team to support them again. This time monetarily but voluntarily. I thought it would be a nice gesture if our team contributed money towards the sedation. I did some research on this and it costs $75 minimum for sedation each time he has one. I have donated $75 from our team coach's gift plus $75 of our own money towards the goal of $500. If you are so inclined, please also donate towards this cause.
We will announce this at our team party today. Go Panthers!
